About this print
Proposed docks for bulk freight steamers at the mouth of the Calumet River, laid out so boats could come and go without anyone opening a bridge. Drawn in graphite and colored pencil for the 1909 Plan of Chicago by Daniel Burnham and Edward Bennett. Solving traffic jams before cars had even finished arriving.
