About this print
A tiger steps out of bamboo with its eyes doing most of the work, wide and fixed and aimed directly out of the picture. Tiger-and-bamboo is a stock pairing in East Asian painting, the bamboo standing for the one shelter a tiger respects. This one does not look sheltered. It looks interested.
