The Impromptu Doctor, a relief engraving by José Guadalupe Posada, who illustrated the scandals, tall tales and comic stories of Mexico City's penny press. The title suggests a medical professional with credentials of a rather flexible kind. Posada's line is fast, punchy and made for cheap paper and big audiences. A great conversation piece for clinics, pharmacies, or anyone who has ever googled their own symptoms.
