A dancing fox, printed in 1766, right at the moment full color woodblock printing took off in Edo. In Japanese folklore foxes are tricksters and shapeshifters, so a fox that dances is probably up to something. The artist is unknown, which only makes the whole thing more mysterious. A charming oddball for anyone who likes their animals with a little mischief.
