About this print
The Assault of the Shoe, etched in light red and black by Henri Guérard in 1888. Guérard was an inventive Paris printmaker who loved experimenting with technique, and he was married to the painter Eva Gonzalès. Footwear has rarely seemed so dramatic, and that title alone earns it a spot on the wall.
