The artist's sister, painted by her brother Georges Lemmen in 1891. Lemmen was a Belgian Neo-Impressionist and a member of the avant garde group Les XX, part of the crowd building pictures out of carefully placed dabs of color. Siblings sitting for siblings is an art history tradition, mostly because they were free and could not easily say no.
