Katsushika Hokusai's take on a poem by Minamoto no Muneyuki, from his series One Hundred Poems Explained by the Nurse. The plan was to illustrate the entire classic Hundred Poets anthology, but only a fraction of the designs ever made it to print. Classical poetry delivered through the eyes of an elderly master who still had plenty to say.
