This detailed etching depicts a fashionably dressed Victorian woman riding a large penny-farthing bicycle. Her elaborate dress and petticoats billow dramatically in the wind, creating dynamic movement throughout the composition. The monochromatic artwork is rendered in fine cross-hatching technique typical of 19th-century printmaking, with careful attention to the textures of fabric and the mechanical details of the early bicycle.
Era: Late 19th Century
