About this print

Kajiwara Kagesue rides out in peach-orange lamellar armor and a feathered helmet, longbow in hand, on a black horse that takes up most of the sheet. Kagesue is best known for losing a river race he insists he won, which is a very particular kind of fame. Shigemasa gives him the full heroic treatment anyway.
