One of the earliest of Julia Margaret Cameron's portraits of her niece Julia Jackson, made in 1864, the very year Cameron got serious about photography. Critics complained her pictures were blurry; she kept going and made blur look like intention. Julia would go on to be the mother of Virginia Woolf, so this is a literary family album with excellent lighting.
