Francisco Madero, the man who toppled Porfirio Díaz and became Mexico's president, rendered as a calavera by José Guadalupe Posada. Posada's skeletons skewered politicians, socialites and everyone in between, and nobody was too important to be reduced to bones. This impression was printed in 1944, proof that good satire outlives its targets.
