Ernst Ludwig Kirchner

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner co-founded German Expressionism and immediately made it weird. Angular bodies, electric colors, Berlin street scenes that feel slightly unhinged. He painted the early 20th century like it was vibrating. The Nazis called it 'degenerate.' We call it a compliment.
